International Day of the Girl Child

October 11 is the International Day of the Girl. The day aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face, while promoting girls’ empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights. Tobago observed the day with a workshop for female secondary students at the Scarborough Library Facility yesterday (October 11, 2017).

The Scotiabank Breast Cancer 5K ran off on Saturday (September 30, 2017) at the Gulf City Mall in Lowlands. The event helps to raise awareness of the importance of getting screened for breast cancer. The theme for this year’s 5K was “Every Stride Empowers”.
