Launch of the 2015 TOBAGO JAZZ EXPERIENCE

The Division of Tourism and Transportation
The Division of Tourism and Transportation will launch the Tobago Jazz Experience (T.J.E) at the Paprika Restaurant, Rust Street Port of Spain on Monday 19th January 2015.

The Launch begins at 6pm and ends at 8pm and will give details of the exciting international line up of artistes to assemble in Tobago to perform at this year’s Jazz Experience.

Secretary of Tourism and Transportation, Tracy Davidson-Celestine said she was excited by the quality of acts planned for the week of activities and is confident that once again thousands of guests will come to Tobago to be part of the T.J.E.

“The Division of Tourism and Transportation continues to invest in this project because it has the effect of benefitting ordinary Tobagonians. The hotels, guests’ houses and bed and breakfast properties are all full during this time. This means waiters, taxi drivers, street food vendors, bar owners are just a few who benefit from the T.J.E .” Mrs Davidson Celestine said.

She added that her division wants to encourage ordinary Tobagonians to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the tourism industry.

Mrs. Davidson Celestine added, “The Jazz experience also helps to build indigenous Tobago businesses and I want to encourage Tobagonians to not be afraid and take the opportunities to be successful by getting into the business of tourism. When one looks at the people who are entrepreneurs and are in the tourism business one can see the economic potential and I urge particularly young Tobagonians to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the growing sector.”

The Tobago Jazz Experience takes place from April 18th to 26th 2015.
