Tobago Carnival will kick into high gear on February 21 with the annual THA Inter Department Carnival Competition at the Shaw Park Complex, starting at 7 p.m.

This will be followed by the THA Pan Champs competition on February 22 at the Dwight Yorke Stadium Parade Square Ground, also from 7 p.m.

Other major Carnival events include the Tobago Calypso and Soca Monarch competition at the Scotiabank Junction (February 26; 8 p.m.), the Tobago Windward Junior Extravaganza at the Roxborough Sporting Complex (February 28; 10 a.m.), and Big Truck Friday at the Dwight Yorke Stadium Parade Square Ground (March 1, 1 p.m.).

The Tobago Carnival season was officially launched on January 21 in Scarborough. Visitors embarking the maiden voyage of the MV Ventura at the nearby Port of Scarborough had a first-hand experience of the colour and creativity of Carnival, as they joined masqueraders and other performers at the event.
