ISOS Gets Support

The police aren’t the only ones with high hopes for the new “I Support Our Service” Campaign, launched recently in Tobago.

President of the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association Chris James said the initiative will be beneficial to Tobago.

“I think it’s a good initiative, I think it’s clear that the police cannot solve crime on their own and I do think we need to build the respect within the police force and civilians towards the police,” he said.

James is confident Destination Tobago can become a safer place. He said the campaign is aimed at achieving this with the support of the public.

Launched on February 15, at Apex Bar and Grill in Canaan, Divisional Commander of the TTPS Tobago Division, Acting Senior Superintendent Jeffery George, is also happy that the programme has been launched.

The programme rewards good driving on the road through random prize distribution.

“I am in full support of it because for years the police been outside there without no actual support from the community and you have to understand that people put their life on the line to ensure that the communities are safe,” George said.

He added that the initiative fosters better relationships and mutual respect between the police and communities.
