History Made!

Jubilation is written all over the faces of the members of NGC Couva Joylanders and NGC representatives as they bask in the glory of winning the National Panorama Medium Bands category for the very first time.

The National Panorama Medium Conventional Bands Finals took place in Tobago for the first time on February 16th, 2020.

The champion’s trophy went to NGC Couva Joylanders with their selection ‘Is My Turn’ arranged by Stefon West.  It was the first-ever win for the Band which has been in existence since the 1950’s.

Potential Symphony, playing ‘All Dem Tobago Gyul’, took second place, while Tobago’s own Katzenjammers Steel Orchestra came third with ‘Caribbean Connection’.

Two other Tobago bands took part in the competition, namely, Carib Dixieland (8th place) and NGC Steeel Xplosion (9th place).

The event took place at the Parade Grounds, Dwight Yorke Stadium.
