Lands Ready for Construction

THA Chief Secretary, Hon. Ancil K. Dennis, leads a meeting with Stakeholders involved in the airport relocation process (February 11th, 2021)

THA Chief Secretary, the Honourable Ancil K. Dennis, is satisfied and relieved that all arrangements are in place for residents who have been displaced as a result of the ANR Robinson International Airport Expansion Project.

The lands designated for affected residents at Shirvan Development and COVE Development are now fully accessible to them. But Mr. Dennis warns that it is important for the processes implemented by the THA, to be followed by all interested persons.

He made these remarks following a meeting with various stakeholders on Thursday, February 11th, 2021.

The lands which have been provided by the THA at subsidized costs of $30/sq. ft. at Shirvan and $50/sq. ft. at COVE are accessible daily (Monday to Sunday) between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. for construction. Residents can access the lands using the following process:

  1. Complete negotiations with NIDCO
  2. Visit the ARC office at Canaan to obtain an Offer Letter
  3. Read and sign Offer Letter
  4. Await instructions from ARC to make payments at the Division of Finance and the Economy {initial payment of at least 50% and the remaining 50% in the next three (3) months}
  5. Await written approval from ARC to access lands at Shirvan/COVE

Chief Secretary Dennis further advises that any resident who believes that he/she is unable to meet the financial requirements, set by the THA, should communicate with staff at the Airport Relocation Committee office. He assured all affected residents that the THA is committed to making the transition as smooth as possible.
