Invest In Yourself

YTEPP graduates during the May 17th ceremony held at the Colibri Ballroom, Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort.

Two hundred Tobago students are now better equipped to earn a living after graduating from the Youth Training and Employment Partnership Programme (YTEPP) earlier this week.

The ceremony’s theme was ‘Do Something Worth Remembering’. Chief Secretary-Tobago Hon. Farley Augustine congratulated the graduates for their resilience in completing their programmes despite the challenges and disruptions of COVID-19.

I hope this something worth remembering that you will do, will be something that is immensely positive. Think beyond and outside of the box… because your world should never be confined by four walls,” he said.

He told the graduates that their experiences at the school matter.

Every single thing that happened to you in YTEPP was a life lesson. All the good things, the bad things, all of that taught you something important. It taught you that if you are to bet on yourself, you have to invest time in yourself.”

The THA has consistently advocated for residents to invest in themselves, to develop and advance their skillsets and to improve the quality of their lives and society at large.  YTEPP, a leading technical and vocational training institution, continues its mission to transform youth into marketable employees and entrepreneurs.

Moreover, on March 14th, YTEPP representatives met with the Chief Secretary. The meeting featured a brief review of the work the institution has done over the years, as well as discussions about exploring possible partnerships to boost youth development.

The graduation ceremony took place at Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort.
