Overview
This subsidy aims to assist qualified applicants with any essential repairs in your home including ceiling works, floors, indoor plumbing for a toilet and bath, kitchen, an additional room, plastering of the walls etc.
Eligibility
- Applicant’s gross household income must not be above $15,000 per month
- Applicants must be a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago and be residing in Tobago for a period of Five (5) years or more
- Applicants must be the owner of the property or have permission to occupy the land
- Previous applicants who benefited from any of the Home Improvement programmes cannot reapply before 5 years has elapsed
- Successful applicants in the Housing Developments cannot benefit from the Home Improvement programmes before a period of 3 years has elapsed
Required Documents
- Copy of Birth certificate and affidavit if applicable
- Copy of Identification Card
- Copy of Land & Building Tax Receipt From 2009
- Copy of Deed or Statutory Declaration for Land
- Estimate for labour and materials not exceeding $20,000.00
- Job letter/Pension Slip/National Insurance Letter
- Bills amounting to $20,000 no older than 12 months before application date
- Marriage Certificate, Divorce/Decree
- Death Certificate (if applicable)
- Statutory Declaration for Self-Employment/unemployment.
Application Process
- Interview with CSR, documents verified, info entered into database.
- Site visit by engineering Aide to your property, report & recommendation submitted.
- File approved or denied by administrator.
- Dispatched to accounts unit for cheque processing.
- First tranche grant cheque disbursed.
