Overview
This grant is geared towards assisting families in need to conduct internal repairs. For e.g. addition of room, toilet and bath, ceiling, tiling and electrical repairs, as well external repairs (roofing, railings and retaining walls).
Eligibility
- Applicant’s household income must not be above $10,000 per month
- Applicants must be a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago and residing in Tobago for at least 5 years
- Previous applicants who benefited from any of the Home Improvement programme cannot reapply before 5 years as elapsed
- Successful applicants in the Housing Developments cannot benefit from the Home Improvement programme before a period of 3 years has elapsed
Required Documents
- Copy of Birth certificate and affidavit if applicable
- Copy of Identification Card
- Copy of Land & Building Tax Receipt From 2009
- Copy of Deed or Statutory Declaration for Land
- Estimate for labour and materials not exceeding $15,000.00
- Job letter/Pension Slip/National Insurance Letter
- Marriage Certificate, Divorce/Decree
- Death Certificate (if applicable)
- Statutory Declaration for Self-Employment/unemployment.
Application Process
- Interview with CSR, documents verified, info entered into database.
- Site visit by engineering Aide to your property, report & recommendation submitted.
- File approved or denied by administrator.
- Dispatched to accounts unit for cheque processing.
- First tranche grant cheque disbursed.
