About the Competition

A Legacy of Creativity

Established in 2012 by the Office of the Chief Secretary, Tobago House of Assembly, the competition recognises and nurtures the artistic talents of Tobago’s secondary school students while celebrating the island’s people, culture and heritage.

Over the years, it has become one of Tobago’s leading youth programmes, with winning works exhibited across Trinidad and Tobago, including the A.N.R. Robinson International Airport.

In 2025, a film component was introduced, expanding opportunities for students to tell Tobago’s stories through painting and film.

The competition celebrates Tobago’s culture, heritage, environment and identity through creative storytelling while encouraging innovation, critical thinking and technical skill across traditional and digital media.

Through these opportunities, the competition supports the continued growth of arts and creative education, empowering young creatives to develop their talents, share their perspectives and contribute to Tobago’s vibrant cultural landscape.

We understand that love for Tobago, and by extension country, must be cultivated early to remain strong. After all, it is from these foundations that passionate and responsible citizens emerge.
