The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) will debate the island’s budgetary allocation later this month.
On November 28th, the motion on Tobago’s budgetary allocation for fiscal 2020 will be tabled at the Assembly Legislature.
Finance Secretary Joel Jack said post-budget retreats took place last month, initially with THA Secretaries and then with Secretaries, Administrators and senior accounting staff.
“During the sessions, Divisions were asked to identify priority projects and rank them accordingly,” Jack said. The sessions allowed for “great discourse as it relates to adjustments of fiscal priorities of the Assembly for this financial year, given our allocation and our intention to utilize alternative financing mechanisms,” he continued.
Sourcing additional funding through CAF – Development Bank of Latin America is one alternative mechanism being examined.
