Testing of the Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems

The Tobago Emergency Management Agency as per regular schedule would be testing its four (4) Multi- Hazard Early Warning Systems.

Testing would be conducted today Thursday 02nd July 2015, between the hours of 11:30am and 12:00 noon.

Early warning systems are increasingly considered to be an integral component of disaster preparedness. As such the Tobago Emergency Management Agency has strategically placed four (4) Multi- hazard Early Warning Systems on the island of Tobago. This is to ensure that in the event the high risk communities on the island are threatened by any hazard, which may warrant an evacuation, persons can be forewarned in a timely manner.

The Tobago Emergency Management Agency further advises the public that this is a routine test and does not warrant an evacuation of any kind. Audible siren tones would be heard during testing of these systems and we ask the general public not to be alarmed.

The Tobago Emergency Management Agency thanks all members of the public for their kind cooperation and we do apologize for any inconvenience caused.
