New board at Festivals Commission

Instruments of Appointment were handed to 10 persons yesterday to lead the Tobago Festivals Commission Limited.

The commission has seven newly-appointed directors, a secretary and two ex-officio members. They received their instruments of appointment from Secretary of Tourism, Culture and Transportation, Councillor Nadine Stewart-Phillips, on July 29th at the Division’s Scarborough office.

The Board of Directors will be led by Dr. Suzanne Burke as Chairman and includes Penelope Williams, Deputy Chairman, Dr. Verleen Bobb-Lewis, Shane Andrews, Anthony Arnold Jnr. Laurel Broomes-Rogers, Kieron McDougall, Secretary to the Board of Directors – Cherish Trotman-O’Neil and Ex-Officio members, Glenda-Rose Layne and Louis Lewis.

The Tobago Festivals Commission Limited is charged with the responsibility of planning, coordinating and implementing Tobago’s Tourism and Cultural Festivals and other festivals, as directed by the Secretary.
