Health Secretary: New Records Centre Vital

The Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development, took another big step yesterday in improving its efficiency with the launch of its Off-Site Records Centre.

The Centre, located at Salandy Building on Piggott St., uptown Scarborough, was launched yesterday (April 4). Chief Secretary Kelvin Charles commended the Division for its efforts.

Charles said the Centre is an important step in improving services provided by the THA, adding: “I will be mandating all Secretaries in all Divisions to embark on a similar exercise, whether on-site storage or off-site.”

Health Secretary Dr. Agatha Carrington said records management is critical to the efficient functioning of the Division.

“We know locating employees’ records can be a task… as a start we will organise and preserve our institution’s records because these are vital to our business,” Dr. Carrington said.

The Secretary said the Centre will ensure proper record keeping and “will enable us to respond more speedily to your benefits and gratuity payments”.
