Focus On Men’s, Women’s Health

Improving how healthcare services are delivered remains a focus of the Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development.

In fact, women’s health and men’s health will be getting more attention, according to Secretary of of Health, Wellness, and Family Development Dr. Agatha Carrington.

“October 30th, our breast health and pink room would be launched, so too on November 19th  on International Men’s Day, we will launch our men’s health service and blue room then,” Carrington said at Wednesday’s (August 22) post Executive Council media briefing.

Dr. Carrington said services will be provided at the Stroke and Diabetes Centre as trained staff review cases and refer selected patients to the centre for further treatment.

“They go into the hospital, do the stroke rounds and determine those persons that they will work with, and those persons will be sent to the centre,” she explained.

There will also be occupational therapists offering speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and other key services.
