Better Access for Differently Abled in Schools

Access for the differently abled is being enhanced at several Tobago schools with the installation of wheelchair ramps.

Chief Secretary Kelvin Charles said this is to ensure the safety of those with physical challenges.

“At Parlatuvier [Anglican Primary], for example, a ramp is being built and wheelchairs provided to allow access to two students with physical disabilities, and our Student Support Unit is currently gathering data on similar needs in other areas.”

The Education Secretary said the initiative will create greater equity in the education system.
