Sign Language Training for Teachers

Eighteen special needs school teachers in Tobago are participating in a workshop on improving sign language delivery. The workshop is meant to enhance social inclusion for the hearing impaired.

This training programme, which is being hosted by the Division of Education, Innovation and Energy, began on July 25. It will run until the end of August.

The workshop, which is being conducted at the Tobago Teachers’ Professional Centre at Mardon House, will help teachers better communicate with special needs students.

Anita Forbes, a lecturer at the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) is the facilitator of the workshop.
