Lots of Socks Campaign

The Lots of Socks Campaign is held in recognition of World Down Syndrome Day which occurs annually on March 21st. People with Down Syndrome have an extra chromosome that is shaped ‘like socks’

Persons began wearing socks in 2013 to raise awareness. And this year, staff members within THA Divisions will help spread awareness of the campaign by rocking their colourful socks. In addition, schools across the island have been encouraged to take part.

The initiative helps educate people about persons with Down Syndrome and create a culture of inclusion and acceptance.

The hashtags for posting pictures on Facebook will be #leavenoonebehind #lotsofsockstobago in support of the Lots of Socks campaign.
