Chief Secretary Attends 48th Annual Meeting of the Caribbean Development Bank – Grenada

Chief Secretary Hon. Kelvin Charles and Bobby Andrews, Planning Coordinator, Division of Planning and Development, will attend the 48th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in Grenada, scheduled to take place May 30 and 31, 2018.

The Annual Meeting is expected to attract approximately 400 delegates including Government Ministers, private sector representatives and members of civil society. This 2018 Annual Meeting will primarily focus on the resilience against the backdrop of one of the most devastating hurricane seasons the Caribbean region experienced. The Meeting will also address the impact of the Bank’s investments in its 19 borrowing member countries (BMCs).

The CDB was established for the purpose of contributing to the harmonious economic growth and development of its BMCs, and to promote economic cooperation and integration among them. The Caribbean Development Bank is committed to reducing poverty in the Caribbean Region through sustainable social and economic development and currently has 28 member countries (borrowing and non-borrowing).

Deputy Chief Secretary Joel Jack will attend to matters in the absence of Chief Secretary Kelvin Charles from Tuesday 29 May to Saturday 02 June, 2018.
