The Licensing unit
The Licensing unit is responsible for vehicle and driver registration, improving the road network and for ensuring that the users of the public roads comply with the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Ordinance.
The Building Maintenance unit
The Building Maintenance unit seeks to maintain and preserve the value of all government buildings and to reduce the negative effects of wear and tear.
The Electrical Inspectorate unit
The Electrical Inspectorate unit checks to verify that electrical systems have been properly installed and to ensure that electrical codes are implemented and operated within designed parameters.
The Unemployment Relief Programme sub-unit
The Unemployment Relief Programme sub-unit provides individuals with essential skills to face a changing economy and creates opportunities to obtain future jobs.
The Division of Infrastructure and Public Utilities (DIPU)
The Division of Infrastructure and Public Utilities (DIPU) also works in co-ordination with - Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA), Telecommunications Service of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT), Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC), Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC), the Port Authority and the Airport Authority of Trinidad and Tobago. The Division sometimes financially facilitates and assists with service delivery of water, telephone, electricity, public transport, sea and air transport for the people of Tobago.
The DIPU oversees development projects that include bridge construction and widening, reconstruction of roads after major landslides, major road widening and reconstruction. The Division of Infrastructure and Public Utilities has also been involved in the construction of new buildings and refurbishing and reconstruction of old ones.
